Member of Technical Staff

EngineeringToronto / HybridFull-time

We are looking for an exceptional technical entrepreneur to join as a Member of Technical Staff: someone with both business and technical chops to operate with full ownership and autonomy. This role is for a high-agency builder who can own products, systems, customer outcomes, and business initiatives end to end.

What you’ll do

You will own entire domains of product and technical initiatives from ambiguity to production. This is a role for someone who wants founder-level scope, not a narrow engineering lane.

  • Own entire domains of product and technical initiatives from ambiguity to production: designing architecture, writing and reviewing code, validating systems, integrating with customers, debugging issues, and iterating quickly on feedback.
  • Work directly with customers to understand requirements, support deployments, identify opportunities, and turn operational friction into product improvements.
  • Operate with a high degree of freedom across the full technical stack: platform, backend, frontend, data systems, applied ML, integrations, infrastructure, testing, and customer-facing delivery.

What we’re looking for

We look for people with a gold-medal mentality: former or current founders, seed-stage CTOs, founding engineers, or unusually high-caliber builders applying a technical-founder skillset to a high-growth company.

  • A track record of bringing technical products from zero to one and iterating with customers to revenue generation.
  • Strong full-stack engineering judgment across backend, frontend, data, infrastructure, and applied AI/ML systems.
  • The ability to form a technical vision, make independent decisions, and own the consequences.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in English, fluent in translating between technical and business language.
  • High grit, urgency, and follow-through, with strong product and business instincts, not just coding ability.
  • An experimental mindset and the patience for repeated iterations in the face of failure.
  • Comfort operating without heavy process, hand-holding, or narrow job boundaries.

Compensation and upside

Compensation includes a competitive base salary, equity, and bonuses proportionate to the outcomes of the business initiatives you own and deliver. This role is designed for someone who wants meaningful ownership, autonomy, and return on their effort.

Location

Candidates based in the Toronto area are preferred, with an in-office presence two to three days per week. We will consider exceptional candidates based elsewhere.
